Rihanna doubles up in Europe

 

 

Rihanna has scored a chart double in Europe, almost becoming one of the only stars to register number one albums and singles on two continents in the same week.

Her new album Loud has debuted at the top in Europe, ahead of Bruce Springsteen's The Promise: Darkness on The Edge of Town, while her hit single Only Girl (in The World) scores a fourth week at number one in the European Hot 100 Singles countdown.

The success comes just two days after Loud debuted at three in America and Only Girl (In the World) made her the first artist since Usher in 2004 to score four US Billboard Hot 100 number ones in a calendar year.
